How About Them Islamophobes Homophobes and Other Deplorables?

000There are also xenophobes, misogynists, sexists, irredeemables, and regular old racists.   I wonder, are all Islomaphobes also homophobes? Can a person be one class of deplorable without being another? Can these people be cured? Is there any benefit gained from counseling? Some Islamists seem to be homophobes.

These are all important questions. Perhaps all of these wayward folks should be rounded up and quarantined. There could be a weekly roundup. Eventually there would only be nice gentle people out in public.

It is a work in progress for sure. This is the world we live in but it is not the real world.

In the real world, people don’t get along with each other all that well. As previously explained, there is this process called social evolution. Back in the good old day, different races went centuries after centuries without even knowing other races or societies even existed. When there were encounters the two sides were likely to try and kill each other. That is how racism started. Tolerance managed to sneak in as groups finally decided that trading and communicating was preferable to killing and stealing. Racism came first but began diminishing due to social evolution.  The process is not complete.

Homosexuals and straight people deal with one another just fine most of the time. What is called homophobia is not really fear. Straight folks are nauseated by the thought of homosexual practices. That is not a voluntary response. It seems to be biologically based and is reflexive. This makes no sense to homosexuals because they are not nauseated with one another. There is no fear. It is a natural aversion.

Muslims are different than Christians and Jews, religiously, politically and culturally. Much of the Islamic lifestyle is not compatible with that of Christians and Jews.

All people are born into a system that is governed by laws of dominance and subservience. Individuals survive by dominating or submitting to domination. The practice is so much a part of nature, it is normal to lose awareness that it is happening.  Groups people identify with try to dominate other groups they don’t belong to. This is peaceful most of the time but sometimes wars break out. Most dominance and subservience is by tacit agreement.

Unless various groups are free to dislike one another and work out differences no progress is ever made in terms of social evolution. When the words cited at the beginning of this article are used it is actually an attempt to dominate another party. Place a label on a person and he and anything he says are dismissed.  When all groups of people are deemed good and no criticism is allowed, social evolution comes to a halt. Nowadays, a person can hardly speak a rational sentence without being given an unflattering label.

My standard for defining racism is as follows: denying someone rights based on race is racism. It is o.k. to dislike someone based on race. It is not o.k. to deny a person a home in a neighborhood, a job or even a place in line based on race. We can’t deny others the right to have their own criteria with respect to personal preferences, likes and dislikes. If we end up being judged according to who we are and nothing else, that is the person’s privilege. Laws can’t force people to like each other. Laws can be used to insure everyone’s rights are respected.

There are differences in people based on race, religion and countless other areas. Over time differences start to disappear when opposite minded people interact. When it becomes a social convention that everyone in the world must think the same, the positive nature of social evolution stops.

When someone places a label on you for speaking or acting in opposition to their sensibilities, it is to dominate you. Lots of times it is to keep the behavior of the one doing the labeling from being examined in the light of reality. Don’t expect sincerity or good will from someone who calls you names.

The Popular Vote

0Any time a candidate wins the electoral college vote but loses the popular vote, the electoral college is pointed to as being flawed. The popular vote is much easier to win than the electoral college vote. Candidates focus their resources on the electoral college because that is what is required to win.

In the election just finished, Trump put no resources into California. If he was trying to win the popular vote, he would have poured dollars into California.  He probably would have lost the state still but his popular vote would have increased.

Overall, it would be easier to find a strategy for winning the popular vote, if that was what it took to get elected.

Climbing Mooch Mountain

What do Americans want out of government? Ask that question and you will be inundated with the  all kinds of lofty answers. Answers will include, “We the people………justice, honor, liberty for all, fairness, racial equality………………………….on and on and on……” Out of instinct, all people exalt their species, exalt themselves, exalt their country, exalt the school they graduated from. People, in their own minds define themselves as some kind of minor league divinity with intrinsic value anointed by God, doers of good things, filled with honor………and so on.

In my fantasy free approach to economics I study the behavior of the human animal, the same way I would study any group of animals.  No particular person or institution is held in awe. The rich, poor, president, attorney general, congressmen, senators get no more respect than any of the other animals. Each animal is guided by self interest. Each animal has certain personality, characteristics and a different level of education and intelligence.

The one thing all of the animals have in common is that they are guided by self interest. A unique aspect of fantasy free economics is that work is acknowledged as a second choice. All animals will work but only after they are convinced they cannot live off the efforts of others. From the work as a second choice principle, all kinds of efforts and initiatives are undertaken to benefit from the labor of others.  Not all of this is bad. The business owner benefits from the efforts of employees who are paid fairly for their time. Stealing outright is not good. There are all kinds of variations.

The most effective way to live off of others is to start climbing Mooch Mountain, which is what government is, after basic function like protection are taken care of. All who approach government do so for the same reason, personal gain. Government is a means to an end. Government provides legal way to steal money.

The poor are usually pointed to as the countries mooches. They get some benefits. Oddly they never asked for anything. Clearly programs for the poor benefit others besides the poor because the poor have no political power.

Who actually lives at the top of Mooch Mountain? It is the wealthy who have the intelligence, money and power to get what they want from  government. The poor and middle class believe in the prospect of getting something from government. A few do but taken as a whole government is a net loss to all but the rich and highly educated.

To reduce the size of government it is necessary to take benefits away from the people who determine the flow of self serving legislation and policy. If small government worked in favor of the rich, government agencies would start closing tomorrow. Laws would be repealed. Compounding the problem is the fact that almost all Americans think government is growing because of what people at the bottom of the income ladder are demanding.

Lies vs Ridicule

If it Turns out that Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump face off in the 2016 presidential election, it will be a truly unique election. The worlds most accomplished liar, Hillary Clinton,  will face the world’s most adept master of ridicule, Donald Trump.

At first glance it appears that the two are evenly matched given their superb skills. A more in depth look reveals that Trump has a clear advantage. Although ridicule is despised and frowned on in American society it is an extremely effective tool when used against a liar. As a matter of fact, ridicule is the only tool that is effective a complete liar.

Make no mistake, Trump is not Jesus and tells plenty of lies himself. But, ridicule is the tool Jesus used to attack the Saducees and Pharisees who were the greatest liars of their era.  The old books contain countless models of natural law independent of  the spiritual message.

Is Trump a Fascist?

donald-trump_featuredAccording to the Republican National Committee, yes trump is a fascist. According to what a fascist really is, no Trump is not a fascist. Oddly he is being called a fascist by people who have no problem with every bill on which congress votes being an effort to rig a market or gain a subsidy for the politically powerful. Friends, As our government operates on a daily basis, we live in a fascist system. This is something the Republican National Committee wants to preserve. If Trump actually was a fascist, he would be exactly what the Republican Party leadership is looking far,

Trump Wrong on Taxes

I wondered when Trump would stop telling the truth and start hustling. Trump wants to drop the corporate tax rate from 35% down to 15%. This is supposed to stop corporations from locating over seas in order to pay lower taxes.

On the surface, like all political ideas makes sense. The ideal rate for corporate taxes is 0%. Double taxation is a bad thing. There is a problem with that also. Corporations have in the united states have the privilege of using congress as a tool to rig markets and capture customers. Foreign corporations do the same thing but to a lesser degree. In addition the Supreme Court has seen fit to define corporations as human beings, given them the same rights as living breathing citizens. These rights are in addition to rights and privileges, corporations have but people don’t.  A corporation can live for ever and have limited liability. A corporation cannot be put in prison.

Yes, everyone would benefit if corporations paid less tax, or none at all if they were not already extra granted rights and powers. A Tax rate of at least 35% is necessary to compensate society for the disadvantages corporation’s extra rights and privileges inflict on the rest of us.

Don’t mistake Donald Trump for a populist. He has an agenda.
