Income Taxes Who Should Pay The Most?

Income Taxes Who Should Pay The Most?

When corporations get legislation for profit passed are you aware that they have placed a tax on you on top of what the government collects? Can you find a bill that doesn’t serve that purpose?

What do lobbyists do? They lobby in order to increase government spending. Lobbyists are hired by the richest people in the world. You might ask, “why would the rich want the government to spend more money?” Are not the rich the ones who pay for all of it?  For sure rich people don’t do things that don’t make sense. If they did, how would they wouldn’t have gotten rich? Continue reading

Ted Cruz and the Flat Tax

The flat tax is a gift to the donor class. Never support a candidate who proposes changes in the tax code without reductions in spending first. If you have no political power any change made through government will be a disadvantage to you.

There is one good reason for taxing the rich out of proportion to the rest of society. The rich lobby constantly to increase the size and role of government.  The rich reap enormous benefits from the growth of government and thus should pay the majority of its costs.

The most valuable attribute of any tax is in keeping citizens aware of the cost of government.  When spending is increased, citizens need to experience a loss of disposable income. Changes to the tax code in tax code by proposed politicians always facilitate more spending and guarantee citizens won’t object. If they don’t feel it, they won’t care.

Fair Tax

Dr. Ben Carson is a proponent of the Fair Tax, in order to get contributions from billionaires.

Never agree to a change in the tax code if it is not preceded by a spending cut.
Never agree to a change in the tax code if the socio-economic group you are a member of has no political power in the United States.
Without a spending cut first, any tax code change will only further hide the cost of government. It is easy to get folks to agree to spending increases if it costs them nothing extra in the immediate time frame. Taxes do have the potential of keeping voters in touch with how much government costs. Any tax that does not do this simple thing guarantees unrestrained growth of spending and government programs. A good approach would be to levy the highest taxes on the Americans who benefit most from the growth of government, lobby for new programs and push for spending increases. The world’s richest people fit into this category. What they call the Fair Tax would increase incentives to use government as a tool for rigging markets. The fair tax would guarantee the continued profitability of the lobbying efforts of large corporations. All of this is at the expense of everyone who works for a living.

How does a candidate get contributions from the richest people in the world? Support of the fair tax is the main criteria. Fair is a good word to use in the name of a new political program because people will be supportive of its content without thinking.

New Ways To Tax You

When candidates propose new and better plans to collect taxes this means no effort will be made to reduce spending. No matter what, the biggest burden of taxation is going to fall on the group with the least political utility to the person proposing the new system of taxation.
Identifying the burden of taxation is not that simple. Half of the people pay no federal income tax so they say. That is only if FICA is not counted as a tax but FICA is a tax. It is said that employers pay half of FICA. That is true if you believe employers don’t pass their half on to employees in the form of lower wages. The rich already pay more than their fair share so you say. Well, the rich get more benefits from the government. In many cases the taxes the rich pay are close to being investments. The rich use government to create, protect and manage markets. The upper echelon of rich could not maintain their status without using government to gain an unfair advantage.
There are a number of truths where taxation is concerned.
1.) More tax revenue generates more spending
2.) Lower taxes generate more spending. People want more of what costs them less.
3.) Taxes keep voters in touch with what government costs.
4.) Higher taxes result in smaller government an in the long run lead to lower taxes.
When a politician comes up with a new idea for collecting taxes, the true message is, “Spending is not coming down but this new tax plan will make the cost of big government less painful for my supporters.”
