The Coming Freak Show

Download PDF Version

The campaign for the 2020 presidential election has be begun. Donald Trump has less than impressive polling numbers. Those numbers are extremely high in today’s political arena. Although he is well under 50%, there is not a politician in the western world who rates anywhere near that high. Donald Trump has his supporters focused on building the wall. He has them repeating meaningless mantras like “Make America great again.” Meaningful news is never reported. Congress never shares knowledge with constituents. If they did most lawmakers would lose their jobs. In a free society, citizens need information to accomplish the task of managing government. Since only a handful of constituents know what is really going on in the world or what genuine issues are in play, ordinary people have no effect on what government does or doesn’t do.

In the meantime, the Trump economy is transferring wealth and income from the bottom of the food chain to the top at an accelerated pace. Trump’s supporters get to hear kind words from him while they are being fleeced.

Democrats are throwing hats in the ring. The cast of Democratic candidates is going to be  part of the biggest freak show the country has ever seen. Very simply every democrat is running with agendas that that no government in the universe has a chance of accomplishing. The success of their issues depends upon their representatives being selfless and filled with the imaginary incentive to serve. Turn global warming over to government and watch feeding frenzies on government money ensue as public private partnership grow. How about ending racism or bias against LGBTs? Is government going to make folks love and appreciate one another? The whole concept of democracy comes down to being a way for people who vehemently disagree to live in the same place at the same time and still participate in government.

We live in a fascist world. Fascist means top down socialism. Fascism is a form of socialism. The campaign will come down to right wing top down socialist vs. left wing classic socialists. Statistically speaking there are no free market enthusiasts in the population at all.  When the race for president comes down to two candidates both will do all possible to avoid revealing who they really are.

With free market principles abandoned, peace disappears. Economics by force is the only other option. Principles of democracy are being abandoned also. Democracy serves as a source of peace also.  Lack of peace manifests itself in more ways than can be fathomed.

Campaign 2020 begins against a backdrop that includes a highly comfortable population, even with the lost of economic viability.  The American population is too comfortable to do a lot of critical thinking.  Notice how that changes, in cases when discomfort shows itself.  The only thing that makes the outcome of the presidential race not completely predictable is the possibility that unexpected events might make the citizens uncomfortable.  As comfort decreases, thinking increases a little. Actual suffering can spur all kinds of problem solving cerebral activity.

So, unless something out of the blue wakes up voters its going to be a total freak show from now until November 2020.

The truth is a hard sell. Fantasy Free Economics gains readers one at a time. Major search engines simply do not list blogs which disagree with their political agenda. As long as folks share the link to this blog and others speaking out against the grain, the truth will at least trickle into the public consciousness.

The Danger

Generally I  explain economic and political issues in just a few sentences. The dangerous situation the world is in today can be explained in one sentence. Here it is.

The rejection of free markets and democratic principles is the danger and the source of most other dangers in the world today. Continue reading

I am Forecasting no War

Who starts wars? Wars start when industrialists disagree. With nothing to gain by war, industrialists will sue for  for peace. Billionaires work the international market. The war in Syria is being fought  over economic issues just as are all wars.  The war in Syria mostly relates to petroleum and pipeline issues. The non-petroleum industrialists have nothing to gain from a world war. Probably the industrialists on both sides which are behind the various countries war efforts would rather lose their initiative in Syria than lose even more in the event of an all out world war.

Americans mostly believe that even though they have no representation in congress, our government is controlled from within the United States. In the light of reality, that is not true. The moneyed interest which control the government in the U.S. also control the Russian government. They are highly influential in China also. These folks are not going to let the world’s militaries destroy their markets.

The biggest cash cow the billionaire class has are the asset enhancement initiatives being carried out by our Federal Reserve and the rest of the world’s central banks. The money made by virtue of having government drive up their investments is so great, the rich are even losing the incentive to innovate. Who really needs to do anything if government is going to pay you for just being rich?

A crisis or a potential crisis causes traders who unwittingly think they are participating in an actual market to take bearish positions in the stock market. Short positions are initiated in anticipation of a decline as the crisis worsens. Short sellers must buy back the shares they have sold without owning them at some point. They cover very quickly when the market goes against them. They become the fuel that launches the market into recovery.

Most likely the almost at war crises will be converted into an attempt to launch the stock averages to new highs. Watch for a sudden resolution to the issues in Syria and for that to be accompanied by some of the most wonderful news possible.  The chances are all of this will be used as an opportunity to create huge gains for the financially elite who are the only group your government actually serves.

Understanding Human Behavior

670px-Improve-Your-Child's-Behavior-Step-1How did Common Sense Economics discover that most of human behavior is based on instinct and not intellect? It all starts by understanding that intellectual reasoning would never produce the kind of results we get in government and and macro economics. Then we notice that humanity is always described in the most flattering way possible. Certainly it is an instinct common to all animals to exalt their own species. Animals live lives of dominance and subservience and human beings are no exception. Out of necessity, self interest is part of every human activity.

It is not so much that Common Sense Economics made a discovery. These are observations anyone can make. Man acting out of intellect would never create the situation we are in today. Man acting as an animal driven by instinct would would generate the exact situation that is in place today.

The secular world, as it is called in metaphysical circles, is nothing more than animals surviving the way animals are hard-wired to survive. It is through the spiritual nature that good will, mercy and concern for others is experienced. There is a clear choice to be made although it is seldom made consciously. Study politics and macro economics the same way a herd of horses is analysed and all that goes on in the world makes perfect sense.

Peace can be found spiritually but it seldom is. The secular world has a counterfeit version of peace that is based on defining the person and everything in life with euphemisms. A human is defined as a splendid entity, just short of being divine. All people are assumed to be upright and of the highest character unless demonstrated to be otherwise. Innocent until proven guilty is the secular world’s golden rule. Peace is a matter of managing one’s self esteem.

As comforting as euphemisms are, it is a big mistake to apply them to ones country and one’s leaders. Self interest is what motivates all people in their secular lives. Almost any highly educated sociologist, economist, anthropologist, political scientist, or even a truck driver could make these observations and explain them more elegantly. Most of knowing is dependent on the willingness to observe.

Jesus explained that “You shall know the truth and the truth will set you free.” He was teaching special listeners who already knew the nature of truth. The truth may set you free but you will probably be offended upon first hearing it. Most people cannot make themselves entertain ideas like this.
