A political event like a presidential or congressional campaign can be easily explained with some analogies.
Pigs don’t leave the trough as long as the farmer keeps throwing in slop. Corporations and the politically powerful do not leave the trough in Washington as long as they are allowed to lobby, pass pills and force citizens buy their products and services.
A world champion hog caller and winner of countless hog calling contests explains why she always wins. “You have to have appeal in your voice as well as power. You have to convince the pigs you have got something for them”
The politicians in the race need to have appeal as well as power in their voices when they talk to voters. They have to convince the voters they have something for them.
When pigs run in races, the reward that is offered is one Oreo cookie placed in a trough at the end of the track. Only one pig gets the cookie but all the pigs compete as if each one had a realistic chance to eat the cookie.
Voters are like the pigs in a pig race. They vote for candidates thinking there will be some personal benefit for each of them. Benefits are like the one cookie that goes to the pig that wins the race. Voters all think they have a chance of getting benefits from one of the candidates. For most, no benefits are forthcoming.
In the end the pigs get used for purposes that suit the farmer. Citizens end up getting used by the politicians who get their votes.
In an election incentives parallel the incentives pigs have in going to the trough, getting called by a farmer, serving the farmer’s interests in the end and getting nothing for their time. Most eventually get butchered.
The truth is a hard sell. Fantasy Free Economics gains readers one at a time. Major search engines simply do not list blogs which disagree with their political agenda. As long as folks share the link to this blog and others speaking out against the grain, the truth will at least trickle into the public consciousness.

When Wall Street is completely mined out, the mob is going to need a new hustle. Climate change is the ticket. The American public has been fleeced many times but global warming may provide the best opportunity yet. Public private partnerships are the path to billions for anyone who has the political power to use Washington as a tool.
There is no such thing as an innocent government. Our concern should be how innocent is the United States? Are solving problems or, are we causing problems? Like any country, when we engage is something immoral, we create a process where our loss will be greater than anyone else’s even if we gain some benefit in the immediate time frame. When the United States engages in immorality, we are acting contrary to natural law.
Trump won, right? That does not mean he will take office automatically. There will be one or more events take place between now and inauguration. The purpose will be to prevent a Trump administration from taking office. Probably an event will be created to facilitate imposing martial law.
What would you give to hear a few kind words? Lesbians gay men bisexuals and transsexuals love Hillary Clinton. Afro Americans, and Hispanics love Hillary Clinton as well. Do any members of these groups ever ask themselves why?
No one gets lazy without a lot of help. The poor are often accused of being lazy. It is often said that programs to help the poor rob them of initiative. It is said, the more government gives to the poor, the lazier they get.
Trump cannot win a debate. In Monday’s debate, Trump could have said and done a few things differently but it would not have mattered.
So what is up with Hillary Clinton’s health. This is the kind of cough that comes from using crack cocaine. Human nature does not allow the great unwashed to entertain such things. Thinking without the handicap of fantasies and euphemisms is a way of reasoning without the restrictions human nature imposes on the mind.
One of the problems with crime and government merging is that federal law enforcement organizations become useless. Back when FBI director James Comey testified before congress and failed to recommend indictment of Hillary Clinton, how many ordinary people were fooled? Only those who were bound and determined to befooled were fooled. The rest of the nation has become somewhat fearful. Really, what good is the FBI if it gives in to political pressure? When the FBI won’t prosecute folks at the top, it loses the respect of people at the bottom, just as it should. As it is there is no law enforcement at the federal level when it comes to protecting the lives and interests of ordinary people.
The United States could stop the flow immigrates over night just by making some simple changes.
